I host the North County SD Startup Mixer in Encinitas and created the Startup Beach community to bring the San Diego Startup Ecosystem together.

TL;DR:

1. Neal Bloom is hosting his first event on Startup Beach: SD Founders Hike on Oct 4.

2. The August North County SD Startup Mixer is on the August 21st!

3. You can now message your matches directly on Startup Beach.

Let’s get to the details.

Think of Startup Beach as a hybrid between LinkedIn and Luma, built for the San Diego Startup ecosystem.

As an event host, you get the same features as you would on Eventbrite, Luma, or Meetup to host and manage an event with 3 additions:

• Built-In Matchmaking: The algorithm ensures that every attendee at your event makes at least one meaningful connection, which enhances the value of your event.

• Instant Exposure: Your event is shared with the entire San Diego Startup Community, so you don’t need a large list or following to get started.

• Grow Your Influence: When people attend your event, they follow you on Startup Beach. As you host more events, your influence in the community grows organically.

As an event attendee joining an event hosted with Startup Beach, you’ll get the same details and info you would expect from a ticketing platform (details, location, etc.) but also:

• Curated Connections: the Matchmaking Algorithm connects you with other attendees based on your profile, making sure you leave the event with at least one meaningful connection.

• Seamless Communication: You can message your matches directly on Startup Beach, making it easier to follow up and build relationships after the event.

• San Diego Startup Ecosystem Access: Beyond just attending events, you’re joining a vibrant community of founders, investors, and professionals in the San Diego Startup ecosystem. By attending events, you automatically follow the host and stay informed about future events and opportunities in the San Diego Startup community.

I’ve been getting feedback from the community that after they get matched, it’s a hassle to look up matches on LinkedIn to connect before the event.
